*We are a non-profit 12 month residential recovery ministry for men (+18) located in Batson, Texas.

Since Dec 31, 2017, we have led the effort to offer men that battle with drugs, alcohol, and other life struggles a chance to be redeemed through a baptism in Jesus name.  The Refuge is supported by Calvary Tabernacle Ministries through donations and contributions given by those who believe in second chances and the healing power of Christ Jesus.

Our Mission

Our mission is to offer a chance for men to be free from drugs, alcohol, addiction, substance abuse, depression, and other life struggles through our 12-month biblical discipleship training. Our residential campus is located in the town of Batson, Texas, just on the border of Hardin and Liberty County.  We will be equipped to house up to 25+ men by July 1, 2018.  This will include a new two story metal framed building (built for lodging, classroom study, eating, etc) on our campus with two stocked fishing ponds for leisure activity.  The Refuge campus is located on the grounds of Calvary Tabernacle Ministries, an Apostolic Pentecostal Church, which has been led by Bro. Tolbert Hudspeth since 2004.

We believe that the promise of the Holy Ghost will be given to men who are baptized in Jesus name according to the Word of God in Acts 2:38, which then gives men a teachable spirit to fight against fleshly desires and the works of the devil.  The goal is to transform men's mindsets through Jesus Christs teachings of ethics and repentance.  We know through our years of experience with leading men out of this bondage, that the only way to transform a man's mind is through the power of God, who is Jesus Christ.

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
